Best Time for Chardham Yatra

Here is the detailed Chardham Yatra itinerary just for you:- 

Travel Itinerary for Yamunotri

  • Reach Haridwar/Rishikesh or Dehradun in the early morning
  • If you’re traveling on public transport, catch the first bus from the local bus stand or if you travel with Chardham tour packages, your travel agency will pick you up from the pre-decided location (Rishikesh, Haridwar, or Dehradun)
  • Once your journey begins from the initial point of departure, your first stop will be Barkot (173 km from Haridwar)
  • From Barkot, you will reach Janki Chatti, the base point of your Yamunotri temple trek
  • You can take a one-night halt in Janki Chatti or start your 4-5 km trek to the main temple 

Travel Itinerary for Gangotri 

  • Once you are done with Yamunotri temple, reach Barkot 
  • From here, you will reach Uttarkashi. If you have extra time, you can visit Shree Kashi Vishwanath Temple
  • Now you need to cover 100 km of distance from Uttarkashi to reach Gangotri temple
  • After reaching Gangotri temple, seek the blessings of Maa Ganga and cover other local sites like Bhagirathi Shila, Surya Kund, and Bhagirathi River. 

Travel Itinerary for Kedarnath 

  • Kedarnath temple is one of the most famous and holy temples in Chardham Yatra. 
  • Once you cover the Gangotri, on the very next day, reach Uttarkashi and cover 200 km of distance to reach Guptkashi
  • From Gupatkashi, you will reach Gaurikund, the base point of the Kedarnath temple trek
  • You have various options to reach Kedarnath temple, you can take a helicopter, a pony ride, or by foot
  • The distance of Kedarnath temple from Gaurikund is approx 18-19 km. You’re suggested to start your trek in the very early morning so that you can reach the temple by afternoon 
  • Attend the divine evening aarti of Kedarnath temple and head back to your hotel 
  • On the next morning, trek down to Gaurikund and reach Gupatkashi while crossing Sonprayag
  • From Gupatkashi, you will reach the Rudraprayag 

Travel Itinerary for Badrinath

  • Once you reach Rudraprayag from Kedarnath, you will travel to Joshimath from Rudraprayag 
  • From Joshimath, it will take 3-4 hours to reach Badrinath Temple, the last point of Char Dham Yatra
  • Take a dip in Tapt Kund, and seek the blessings of lord Badrinath
  • After the visit of Badrinath, your Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra is completed
